Add Ask Ladder Range

An Ask Ladder is a list of dynamic suggested donation amounts tailored to a donor’s giving patterns. An Ask Ladder Range is a set of variables that dictates how netFORUM calculates the ask amounts that appear in the ask ladder. Add an ask ladder when you want to offer "giving stretch goals" to your donors. Add an ask ladder range when you want to establish the rules by which netFORUM calculates those "giving stretch goals."

Adding an Ask Ladder Range

  1. Go to Modules>Fundraising>More...>Find Ask Ladder>Ask Ladder>Find, List, Add, or Query Ask Ladder>Ask Ladder Profile>Primary Tab>ask ladder range child form.
  2. Click the Add button. The Add – Ask Ladder Range page opens.
  3. Fill in the fields for the populated Ask ladder code as described in the table below:
    Field NameRequired?Description
Range highRequired netFORUM chooses the Ask Ladder range to display based on this number. If the value in Range High is equal to or greater than the highest ask ladder column amount, then netFORUM chooses that ask ladder range.
    Ask typeRequired

    Choose from the following options:

Fixed: The numbers you enter in the Ask 1-5 fields are the numbers that are displayed for the ask ladder.

Add: The numbers you enter in the Ask 1-5 fields are added to the donor's highest donation, then rounded by the Round-up Amount. The first number that is displayed in the ask ladder is highest donation plus Ask 1 then rounded by the Round-up Amount. The second number that is displayed in the ask ladder is highest donation plus Ask 2, then rounded by the Round-up Amount.

Example: If the donor's highest donation is $47, and the Add is $10, then you get $57 for Ask 1. If the Round-up Amount is $25, then netFORUM goes up to the nearest interval of $25, which would be $75 for Ask 1.

Multiplier: The donor's highest donation is multiplied by the numbers you enter in the Ask 1-5 fields. The first number that is displayed in the ask ladder is highest donation times Ask 1, then rounded by the Round-up Amount.

The second number that is displayed in the ask ladder is highest donation times Ask 2, then rounded by the Round-up Amount.

Example: If the donor's highest donation is $35, and the multiplier is 2, then you get $70. If the Round-up Amount is $50, then netFORUMrounds up to $100, which is the next highest interval of $50.

Ask 1RequiredEnter a number. Depending on the Ask type you choose, this number might be large (for the Fixed type), or small (for the Multiplier type).
Ask 2OptionalEnter a number. The number you enter here depends on the Ask Type you select.
